About Us

Upper Blue Mountains Camera Club

We are a small group of dedicated photographers with a wide range of skills. The club has gone through several changes over the years progressing to our current format of monthly members’ exhibitions with 3 categories – Colour Print, Monochrome Print and Digital Projected Image (DPI). We also meet once a month to share knowledge and experience through presentations and workshops.

Our History in brief

The Upper Blue Mountains Camera Club has been operating for about 30 years. For a number of years meeting in Leura at a small church hall, then a room at Morven Gardens (Retirement Village). From 2015 we met at the Presbyterian Church in Falls Road, Wentworth Falls. COVID 19 led us to move online with Zoom for a period of time. As of April 2022 we have been meeting back in person at Katoomba RSL club.

Club documents

In case you fancy some extra reading .. we have a number of documents relating to the club.

  • UBMCC Constitution – The latest UBMCC constitution was adopted in September 2025 and can be viewed here UBMCC Constitution
  • Code of Conduct – The UBMCC adheres to the Federation of Camera Clubs (FCC) NSW code of conduct which can be viewed here FCC (NSW) Code of Conduct
  • Conflicts and Disputes – In accordance to the code of conduct guidelines the UBMCC has adopted a policy to address possible conflicts and disputes.
  • Copyright – on advice from the FCC (NSW) the following has been adopted by the UBMCC – Under Australian Copyright Law, photographers (Photography & Copyright) have the exclusive right to reproduce, publish and sell their images. It is though common practice for photographers to ‘grant’ some of these rights (Assigning and Licensing Rights to reproduce and publish the work) to clubs for competitions and exhibitions. In line with this advice, it was decided that whenever an image is given to the UBMCC for a competition or exhibition evening:
    1. The photographer grants the UBMCC the right to reproduce and publish the image (eg in the newsletter and/or Interclub competition); and
    2. 2.The UBMCC will credit any photographer whose image is published on its website, newsletter or any other public place; and
    3. 3.The UBMCC will retain the images for a set period of time (presently 12 months) and delete the image from its records after that period has elapsed.
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) – Following the recent General Meeting held on the 1st September, The UBMCC Constitution has been amended to include 7 Objects of which the FCC (NSW) Policy on AI has been adopted. Which is to adhere to the rules and guidelines of the Federation of Camera Clubs (NSW), including those relating to the use of Artificial Intelligence. The FCC (NSW) AI Policy can be found at the following link – FCC (NSW) AI Policy
